List of UK Directories

Many UK-based webmasters often ask if there is a list anywhere of directories and search engines based in the UK & Ireland. This posting on my blog offers a list of 20 such directories, together with their PageRank (PR), listing type and other comments, including whether, for example, registration is required. A great resource to get your UK search ranking up on Google, Yahoo! and MSN.

Why list with UK Directories?

For a UK based business, the challenge is often how to achieve better rankings on Google.co.uk. One important way to do this is to obtain lots of high-quality inbound links from other UK sites.

SEO Friendly UK Directories

Work through the list below by clicking on each of the directories in turn. Submit your site by means of paid links, free links or reciprocals. The more links back you thus obtain, the better your listing prospects. Be patient! An inbound link can take up to three months to pass you search engine ranking value (6 months if your site is totally new).
